Meet one of the cutest families I have the pleasure of knowing. For those of you who have participated in my Christmas Mini Sessions or had any custom birth announcements designed by Hannah of HD Designs in recent months, meet the beautiful & talented designer of your cards! Hannah has been such an incredible help to me over the past year or so and I am so excited to be able to (somewhat… although she’ll never truly understand just how much I appreciate her help!!) return the favor with a maternity & newborn session as her family welcomes a new addition late this summer.

Big brother Owen is also one of our neighborhood playgroup playmates, so Luke keeps yelling with excitement at the computer screen as I edit these & he sees his little buddy! We can’t wait to meet Owen’s baby brother soon and welcome our newest little neighbor!

One quick business note… I’ll be headed out of town this weekend for a week at the beach. I’ll have access to email and phone calls all week but will be taking a break from orders and editing until our return. Looking forward to some time away with my boys… and maybe just a *few* pictures while we enjoy the sand, sun & water!

To say that this newborn session was an honor would be a huge understatement. As some of you know, I got my start in professional photography by assisting wedding photographers. One of the very talented photographers I had the pleasure of assisting several times (including a desination beach wedding… what an awesome experience!!) is the mommy of this beautiful little one… Jessica of Sublime Wedding Photography.

I wouldn’t trade the time I spent working with these talented individuals for the world… the knowledge and experience I gained during those few years as I was just getting started were invaluable. I eventually learned, however, that my photography calling & true passion was elsewhere and could not have been happier to share all I have learned along this new journey with Jessica and her sweet family.

I have to say, Miss Avery was almost too cooperative to be a photographer’s child… or maybe that behavior kicks in after several months of having a camera in your face? I think I just got lucky to photograph her early on… before she learns just what it means to have a photographer for a mommy!! She was perfectly content posing for me and even allowed us to get some sweet shots with big brother Liam… who is at one of my favorite ages & was such a blast to chat with!!

Jessica & David, it was wonderful seeing you both again… thank you so much for the honor of capturing these moments with your new family of four!

Sweet baby Mason entered the world earlier this month and I was thrilled and honored to photograph some of his earliest moments. Mason is blessed with two of the sweetest parents and we had the best time working together… both before he was born, capturing him in his mommy’s belly, and most recently as their new family of three!

Darren and Virginia, thank you so much again for welcoming me into your home and allowing me the opportunity to photograph your beautiful blessing.

I met sweet Owen a little over 2 weeks ago at his family’s home in Kennesaw. Owen joins big sister Grace to make this beautiful new family of four. I had a wonderful session with this family and loved interacting with Grace as she is around my little one’s age and too cute for words!!

Meet Baby Channing. He is the son and 2nd child of my dear friend Melanie & her sweet husband, Jimmy. Jimmy & Melanie are our neighbors and their oldest child, Austyn is one of our sweet playgroup friends. Melanie’s friendship has been such a blessing to me over the past several months and I was so excited to be able to take a few newborn pictures when their family’s newest addition arrived earlier this month.

Channing’s daddy is a firefighter and I’ve been wanting to try out some new things for a newborn session with a firefighter dad. I am so appreciative to this sweet family for allowing me to come into their home and try out a few ideas with their family.

Congratulations, Jimmy & Melanie! We are so excited to welcome our newest little neighbor!!

I normally wouldn’t post a picture with the baby crying, but I thought it was so sweet the way big sister Austyn reacted to her baby brother crying. I just couldn’t help but share this little moment.

Braylen ~ 2 Weeks Old ~ Auburn, Alabama Newborn Photographer

I was so excited to hear of Baby Braylen’s arrival late last month… and even more excited to meet him in person earlier this month. What an honor it was to photograph this sweet baby boy’s newborn pictures. I went to high school with his parents and have known them for years… so to now see this beautiful blessing that God has given them and to photograph their new family of three could not have been more special to me.

Braylen wasn’t about to miss a moment of this session and made us work for his sleepy shots… but they were more than worth it. I wasn’t complaining, either, as it gave me more time to spend and catch up with his mom and dad.

Brannon and Nancy, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to capture these special moments for you and your families… more to come for all of you, soon!

Levi Austin ~ 10 Days New ~ Atlanta, Georgia Newborn Photographer

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph for this family recently. Robbie & Claire recently welcomed their 2nd child, Levi, who joins big brother, Jake. Claire and I are from the same hometown so, having a little background going into this session, I had no doubt I’d be photographing 2 beautiful children.

Levi started off sleepy and then, once he realized all we had going on, I think he decided he better not miss too much of the action! Big brother Jake did so great with him and even shared a few smiles with me for his own shots. What fun times this family has ahead of them with these 2 sweet boys!!

Sophie ~ 12 days old ~ Atlanta, Georgia Newborn Photographer

I met beautiful Baby Sophie at just 12 days old. What a pleasure she was to photograph, even though she wasn’t very interested in the sleepier poses. There was far too much to take in this day for her to sleep!

Sophie joins big brother Jake who was equally as much fun to work with. Jake is close in age to my son, so I always feel like I have a bit more of an “insider’s advantage” with that age. I’ve done several more newborn sessions for the second sibling already this year, and I always love seeing (and photographing, of course!) the interaction between the two. Mom and Dad weren’t sure how Jake would do with baby sister during our session, but he ended up doing wonderfully and allowing me to catch some really sweet moments.

Brandee & Kevin, thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and giving me the opportunity to work with your beautiful family. I hope you’ll enjoy some sneak peeks for now to tide you over!

I had the most fun with Virginia & Darren during their maternity session. We met in downtown Marietta and ventured all around the square (dodging in and out of unexpected Prom traffic, I might add) to capture some special images before their little one makes his debut next month.

Virginia and I used to work together and I was thrilled and honored when she asked me to photograph her maternity and newborn session. We were blessed with a beautiful Spring afternoon for our session and I was thankful to see things just starting to boom around the square.

Virginia & Darren, thanks so much for a wonderful session! I can’t wait to meet Baby Mason soon!

I had the honor of photographing a maternity session for this beautiful family last month… so I knew going into the newborn session what a great time I’d have. We shot the maternity session on one of those freezing cold days in early February, so I was extremely thankful for the blessing of such a beautiful spring day for their newborn session. It was a perfect day weather-wise, so we spent much of our time outside… and I don’t think any of us minded one bit!

This family recently welcomed their fourth member, sweet baby Parker. It’s already clear just how much he is loved by his family, especially big sister Katelyn. I loved seeing how sweet she was about her new baby brother… what fun they will have growing up together!

Jamie & Ashley, thank you so much for welcoming me into your home and allowing me the opportunity to capture some special moments for your family! It was wonderful working with you again & meeting your beautiful new blessing! Hope you’ll enjoy some of my favorites so far!
