One Month ~ Dallas, Georgia Newborn & Child Photographer

It’s already happening. His little life is already flashing before my eyes. One month ago today we brought home our second precious baby boy… and I’m still trying to figure out where the days have gone. Granted, they’ve been a foggy haze of diaper changes, feedings, interrupted sleep and lots and lots of baby rocking… but they’ve been precious all the same and those moments when all four of us are together hanging out as our new little family of four are my new happy.

After you have your first baby you always say you can’t imagine life without that child, or you don’t even remember what life was like before he or she came… and now I feel that way about Jack. This beautiful blessing has entered our lives and we will never be the same.

My family and closest friends know that the journey to Jack was a little longer than I ever thought it’d be… but it was one that strengthened my faith in ways that I never imagined and brought my walk with God so much closer… and for that I am so grateful. I had my own plans in mind and God had some pretty incredible lessons to teach me about His timing. I am so thankful for HIS perfect plan… I am so thankful that He’s entrusted me with these precious boys.

So today, on Jack’s one month birthday, I thought it was as good a day as any to share some shots I’ve taken over the past month. I honestly haven’t taken as many as you’d think… Jack has been somewhat spared from a constant camera in his face – for now. We’ve just been enjoying our days adjusting to life as a family of four… learning to survive on sleep increments of 2-4 hours at a time.

Happy one month, baby boy… you are truly an answer to your mommy’s prayers!!

We are so thankful and happy to announce the birth of our second son, Jackson Marshall Baker! Baby “Jack” entered the world on December 19th, weighing in at 7 lbs. and 12 oz. and 19 inches long (we jokingly refer to him as our little “peanut” as he weighed a whole pound less and an inch & a half shorter than big brother when he was born, and I was definitely expecting to deliver another baby in the 8 or 9 pound range!).

We are so thankful for a healthy baby boy and that we were able to be home well in time to celebrate Christmas at home with our new family of FOUR! I am blessed beyond measure and so in love with these precious sons that God has given our family.

This beautiful baby boy was my very last newborn to photograph this year… at least until my own little blessing arrives (hopefully before the end of this year!!). I think Christopher knew he was “my last hoorah” as far as newborn sessions (prior to Maternity Leave), because he was an absolute DREAM to work with. He slept at all the right moments and then awoke to show those big beautiful eyes at just the right moments, too! This doesn’t always happen and you really just never know what you’re going to get when it comes to a newborn session… so I was incredibly thankful to Christopher for being so kind and easy on this expecting mommy/photographer!

Christopher’s sweet parents didn’t do too shabby themselves and I was excited for a beautiful day that allowed us to step outside for some shots, as well! We even worked in a few shots with the family’s canine member… and a pumpkin to commerorate this October baby, of course!

Gina and Scott, thank you so much for the opportunity to work with your sweet family and photograph your new family of three! Hope you’ll enjoy some of my favorites so far!

Earlier in Karen Baker Photography history, I had the honor of first working with this family for big brother Sam’s newborn session. You can imagine how thrilled I was to have the opportunity to now photograph their second beautiful blessing!

I couldn’t wait to meet this little one and I knew that photographing Sam with his new baby brother would make me even more excited about seeing my boys together in a few months (or less!). Sam has always been one of my favorite little kiddos to photograph and he did not disappoint when it came to pictures with his new brother… quite possibly some of my favorite newborn/sibling pictures in recent months!

Matt and Jessi, congratulations again on your family’s new addition! You’ve got yet another beautiful little one on your hands, and I am so honored to have been able to document some of his earliest moments! Hope you’ll enjoy some of my favorites so far!

Not only did I get to enjoy spending a few hours with a precious baby girl and her incredibly sweet parents during this session, but I also got to enjoy using the beautiful backdrop of their family’s land for many of the images. Newborn sessions are the only ones that I primarily do indoors, but when the opportunity arises, I always love stepping outdoors for a few of the images when we can. Even the afternoon August heat couldn’t sway us, although I think sweet Addie was just an unimpressed with our Georgia humidity as we were. Thankfully all three of these beautiful subjects humored me and we were able to get some really special shots to document this time for them.

This precious baby girl decided to make her entrance a little early… I think she knew what fun and love awaited her with this sweet mommy and daddy, and she was ready to enter the world and meet them!

I had such a wonderful time with this new family of three… or four if you count Daley’s canine brother Murphy who I could’ve easily taken home with me!

I have been fortunate to work with this family since big sister Ella was just 5 months old. They recently welcomed their second beautiful baby girl into the world and I love that I was able to document these early moments with their new family of four!

We were even able to do the first part of our session outdoors… LOVE when that happens… and everyone did so well despite the heat and humidity! Both girls were such great little subjects and I love the images we were able to get with them together!

Beautiful baby boy Carson was a wonderful little newborn model for me. He slept through much of the session and even shared a few smiles… a couple of which I caught in the half-smirk position… I’ll take it!

We recently found out that our precious new addition will be a boy, so I’m especially enjoying my newborn sessions that include families with two boys… just dreaming of our new family of four and being an incredibly blessed mama of two sons!

I had such a wonderful time with this family and loved getting to know them all a bit better… and of course a newborn session with a perfectly sleepy newborn can’t be beat!

Sweet baby Mary was the best little newborn model. She slept like a champ through her solo shots and even gave us a few wide-eyed shots at the end, to show off those eyes!

I had the best time with Karen and Jonathan and their beautiful new addition. What an honor it was to document these early moments with their new family of three… and how loved this baby girl already is! They have so many wonderful times ahead of them!

Sweet Asher made quite the exciting arrival into this world but has clearly made the most perfect addition to this beautiful family. I had the priviledge of documenting Louise’s maternity session prior to Asher’s arrival and was excited and honored to see them all again to photograph their new family of four!

I loved seeing what an awesome big brother Hunter is already and how great he is with his new baby brother… it always makes it that much easier to capture some special moments with the two new siblings.
