Cooper & Bella ~ Buford, Georgia Family Session

This was my second session with this beautiful family. It had been almost a year since I had the pleasure of working with Cooper & Bella and their sweet parents, but I knew from our time together last year that we’d have a fun & easy-going time together.

We met up in downtown Buford and spent a recent Saturday morning exploring… and I was excited about some new spots to use for their session. Many MANY thanks to one of my wonderful clients who is a Buford native and budding photographer herself (THANK YOU, NATALIE!!!)… she sent me so many great ideas for different areas to try out. I probably could’ve driven this family crazy all morning taking pictures!!

Cooper is now 6 and Bella was (almost) 3 at the time of their session, so it was great seeing how much they’d grown & changed since our time together last year. These two are still some of the sweetest, most loving siblings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing… what a joy to work with!

I would have to say that one of the greatest blessings of this job is getting to meet and work with new people. I always walk away from a session so thankful for the opportunity to have gotten to meet and spend some time with a person or a family that I never would’ve been able to otherwise.

Every once in a while, I get the opportunity to do something out of the norm. I met Adelaide last Fall when she & her husband & their ADORABLE little girl participated in my Christmas mini sessions. What fun I had with them and Adelaide was one of those people, in particular, that I walked away from feeling so blessed to have met & worked with. I found out during our mini session that she was a violinist and immediately thought of how wonderful it is that I get to meet & work with such talented people from all different types of professions.

Earlier this year, Adelaide asked me if I would be interested in doing a session with her and her sister, Katie, who is a singer. They are working on a new project together as a duo – Katie singing, Adelaide playing violin – and needed pictures for their website, marketing, etc. Of course I said yes and what fun we had a couple of weeks ago shooting these pictures! I loved working with them both and feel so honored to have been asked to take these!

Without further ado, here is the incredibly talented “Duo Sorelle”… and I have to share their website. Although under construction, they do have a link to listen to their music. Did I mention how blessed I feel to have worked with such talented individuals?

I wasn’t going to do a blog sneak peek for this one. As I am nearing the end of my sessions & editing for the year, time is of the essence as I try to finish proofs for clients in time for Christmas cards & gifts. As much as I love doing the blog sneak peeks, it does add extra time to the process that isn’t always available during the busy times.

As I was working on this session tonight, however, I changed my mind. I had to share just a few of these as they make me smile. Of course it helps that I’ve grown quite fond of this family & these 3 kiddos. I started photographing for this family in July when their youngest was 5 weeks old. She’s now 5 months old and I always look forward to my sessions with her and her 2 older brothers. As you can imagine, the boys adore every moment with me & my camera (insert sarcasm here)… what 4 and 8 year old boy wouldn’t? They always wind up humoring me, though, and I always love how their pictures turn out.

Here are a few of my favorites as I’ve been working on these tonight. I can hardly believe I am getting so close to my last sessions and last editing for the year. All of the late nights, early mornings and hours sitting in front of this computer have been worth it, though. Who wouldn’t love getting to know and capturing sweet moments for families like this one? I certainly feel blessed… and tonight I couldn’t help but share a few more reasons why.

sarah ~ 1 year session ~ atlanta, georgia child photographer

As I’ve mentioned before, I love love LOVE working with this little one. I was excited and honored to round off a wonderful year of sessions with her recently by capturing her 1 year photos. Sarah’s birthday is in the Fall so her mom thought it might be fun to do some pictures at a pumpkin patch. I was all over the idea, so we met up at their church’s pumpkin patch to get a few of Sarah amongst the pumpkins.

We later found out that Sarah was in the very early stages of coming down with a virus, so she wasn’t quite as full of smiles as she usually is. Leave it to this sweet little girl, though, to manage some smiles despite it all! That’s a TRULY happy baby for you!

Robyn & Sarah, it was wonderful to see you both again… hope you’ll enjoy some sneak peeks from our time together!

I am proud to call this family neighbors. Hunter and his mom and dad live right down the street from us. Luke and I get to hang out with Hunter and his sweet mommy every other week in our neighborhood playgroup, so when Nicole contacted me to do pictures, I was so excited! There’s nothing like being extra familiar with your subjects going into the session! I just hope Hunter won’t turn and run the other way the next time we meet up for playgroup… maybe if I promise not to bring my camera?!

This family is also expecting baby #2 next month. Their baby girl is due right around Luke’s birthday so I’m pulling for a November 18th delivery for this little one… it’s a pretty special day around here!

Tommy, Nicole & Hunter, thank you so much for a wonderful session. We had beautiful weather and I had a great time with all 3 of you. I can’t wait to do it again after your family’s newest addition arrives!

jolley ~ headshots ~ august 2009

This was a new one for me… I had never done actual (for real) headshots for anyone. Sure, I’ve done headshot-type pictures during senior portrait sessions or for other projects, but this time was a little different. I wasn’t sure how it’d feel being so limited to posing & only shooting from the waist up.

Of course it helped that, if I was going to be doing something I wasn’t sure of, I had a good friend & beautiful model to work with! Jolley was in need of some updated headshots for her modeling agency so she let me take a stab at it. I’m not sure, after having her as the subject & one of my favorite spots as our location, just how hard this task might’ve been otherwise… I had so many things in my favor this time around!

Hannah & I are combining my love for photography with her love for creating custom card designs to offer a really great package for something that everyone loves – beautiful Christmas cards!

Mini sessions are a great way to get some beautiful images of your family to use for Christmas gifts and cards, all at a great mini session rate!

~ 30 minute outdoor session for up to 5 people (Kennesaw location)

I met up with my friend, Lisa, and one of her daughters recently to finish up some pictures we’ve been working on for a while! I first had the pleasure of photographing her 2 younger daughters and specifially her middle daughter Morgan’s senior pictures. Then I had the honor of photographing Lisa with all 3 of her girls… and finally, since her oldest, Haley, was out of town when we did our first session, I did some quick ones of her by herself to complete things!

We met for a few quick moments in downtown Acworth for these. Haley is incredibly photogenic, as you can clearly see below (the camera loves this family), and so easy to work with… so it was quite possibly the world’s shortest session! We just needed a few to complete things. Originally I didn’t have plans to do a blog posting for this one since I am loaded down with session editing right now, but I loved how these turned out, so I just had to share a few!

Thanks so much, Lisa, for giving me the opportunity to work with you & your sweet girls over the past month! I’ve so enjoyed getting to see you & working with all 4 of you along the way! I hope you’ll enjoy this “last installment” to our sessions…
