I enjoyed meeting this family a couple of weeks ago for an extended family session. I don’t do extended family sessions much anymore, but was glad to be able to provide this group with some special shots… it’s so rare that entire families are able to get together for photo sessions like this! It always reminds me of how much I need to get my entire family together for some big group pictures!

I would imagine there are very few dull moments in this household. Even with just two boys, our days are already quite lively (which I wouldn’t trade for the world)… so I am sure these three brothers and their baby sister bring a lot of life into their home everyday! What fun times this sweet baby girl has ahead of her with these three to lead the way!

Walker ~ (Almost) 3 Years ~ Marietta, Georgia Child Photographer

I had an absolute blast at this session. Not only were we blessed with nice weather & a beautiful backdrop, but Walker is seriously one of the most fun (almost) 3 year olds that I’ve ever worked with. His personality reminds me so much of my oldest’s… full of life and conversation, with plenty of laughter & smiles to share! I hadn’t seen him in a couple of years, so we had quite a bit of catching up to do!

Stacey, thank you so much for sharing your precious boy with me again… hope you’ll enjoy a few sneak peeks for now!

Keira ~ One Year ~ Atlanta, Georgia Baby & Family Photographer

I have to say it’s pretty special to watch a family grow from two to three, and a baby go from being in her mommy’s belly, to running around in the grass chasing bubbles. I’ve had the priviledge of working with Alan and Kim since Kim’s maternity session, then Keira’s newborn session & most recently the big ONE year session… all in what seems like just a few months, but somehow over a year has already passed!

I love the precious little personality that Keira is developing and she gets a big award for being so sweet & laid back for a late afternoon/early evening session… not many one year olds can accomplish that feat!

Kim & Alan, thank you again for the opportunity to work with your family & document these moments for you all… hope you’ll enjoy some favorites so far!

I hadn’t seen these sweet boys and their family in a couple of years, so I was especially excited to see how much they had grown and changed since their one year session! They are still some of the cutest little guys I’ve had the priviledge of photographing, and I love that we had the entire family there for this session… and a beautiful backdrop of family land to work with!

My goodness, how quickly a baby’s first year flies by! What a joy it has been to document this sweet little one’s first year… I have loved every one of our sessions and getting to know Will and his sweet parents!

In true one year fashion, Will had more interesting things to do than pose for pictures… but we all worked quickly & we were able to get some great ones. I love that we ended the session in his nursery… such a beautiful room and always so much fun photographing little ones in their true environment.

Clay and Katie, thank you so much for the priviledge to work with your family over the past year! It has been wonderful getting to know you all & having the opportunity to photograph such sweet moments for your family!

I hadn’t seen these three beautiful kiddos since baby brother was a baby… and now he’s a full-fledged toddler, following his big sisters around & doing all of the fun things that little boys do! I’m always impressed with how happy these three are… even doing something - like a photo session – that many little ones would rather not be doing!

It was a little chilly on the morning of our session, so we worked fast & all three kiddos cooperated beautifully, providing us with some really great shots to document this sweet season for their family.

Thank you, Steven & Mandy, for a wonderful session… I love working with your family & these three beautiful, happy children!! Hope you’ll enjoy some favorites so far!

Pardon the Progress ~ Blog & Scheduling Updates

Just a quick update for those of you who follow my blog or check here periodically for updates…

You may notice some blog design changes in the days & weeks ahead… just doing a little “sprucing up” and updating to the blog & website (it’s been a while!), so please pardon the disarray in the meantime! I’m still figuring things out as I transition to mommy of two and working from home, which sometimes barely leaves me time for absolute musts (i.e. editing sessions, communicating with clients & processing orders)… but I’m hoping to gradually get things updated on the blog & maybe even my website in the near future. Thanks so much for your understanding and sorry for any confusion if you have trouble accessing your blog sneak peeks or see some strange design things going on during the “construction process”…

Also, for those of you who don’t follow Facebook or who do but aren’t yet a fan of Karen Baker Photography (if not, you should be… head on over there now!)… I posted some scheduling updates recently…

I am currently booked through the end of the summer (through the end of August 2012). With the exception of new inquiries already submitted, or if we are currently working on your session date, I have no more dates available through the end of the summer… I’ll start booking Fall 2012 dates later this summer. Thank you so much for your support!

I’m keeping a running list of clients who inquire about Fall dates & will start contacting everyone to work on their session date, toward the end of the summer… so be sure to let me know if you’re interested in a Fall session date & I’ll add you to the list! The early bird most definitely gets the best session dates when it comes to photographers’ busy Fall schedules!!

And because no posting on a photographer’s blog would be complete without a picture… thought you all might enjoy this recent one of our precious baby boy… already FOUR months old! My how time is ALREADY flying by!!!

Jolie ~ 4.5 Months ~ Cartersville, Georgia Baby & Family Photographer

It was such a treat getting to work with this sweet new family of three! Jolie is exactly a month older than my Jack, and her mommy has her own budding photography and design business, so we have much in common these days!

Since I so often find myself on the other side of the camera and absent from pictures with my family and my sweet boys, I am always excited for the opportunity to photograph another mommy who is often in the same shoes! I treasure the few pictures I have with my boys and of our little family, so I love being able to provide the same for someone else!

Of course it didn’t hurt matters that this particular family is so adorable… who wouldn’t want to photograph them?!? This precious baby girl is going to change so much over the next year (and years after that), and these sweet early moments are so easy to forget. I’m thankful I had the opportunity to stop time for just a moment and document their lives right now…

Anne-Scarlett & Jason, it was wonderful getting to work with you all… thank you for having me over & allowing me to photograph your beautiful new family of three! Hope you’ll enjoy some of my favorites so far!

Jack ~ 4 Years ~ Canton, Georgia Child Photographer

I had to stare at the computer screen for a few moments after typing the number “4″ next to this sweet boy’s name. How on Earth is it possible that this precious child, who I’ve been photographing since his ONE year session, is now FOUR?!? I see my own children growing & changing at what sometimes feels like light speed, and now I’m starting to feel that way with clients!

What a pleasure & a priviledge it has been to work with this family over the past three years. I’ve loved seeing Jack grow and change from session to session… from that little one year old learning to explore his world around him, to a big four year old, chatting with me about all sorts of fun things.

On top of being an awesome toddler conversationalist (and one pretty darn good-looking kid), Jack is one of the best big brothers I’ve seen yet. I get to photograph quite a few sweet siblings, but these two might just take the cake… and it’s evident in baby sister Josie’s eyes just how much she adores her big brother. These two always give me the sweetest sibling shots!

Sean and Jenny, thank you – as always – for a wonderful session. I love seeing you all and being able to photograph each new season of your lives… hope you’ll enjoy a few of my favorites so far!!

I loved seeing this sweet family again last weekend. I had the pleasure of photographing Clara’s 3 year session early last year, so I was excited to have the opportunity this year to document her in all of her four year old cuteness!

I’m not going to lie, the weather (specifically, the WIND) was not our friend on this particular evening. A windy outdoor session can certainly be a challenge (something to always consider when preparing for beach pictures!), but thankfully these three took it in stride and, despite the challenges, we were able to capture some really sweet four year old and family moments for them.
