I took this picture yesterday morning. This is my son, Luke (in the middle), with my best friend’s son, Charlie (on the right) and daughter, Hayden (on the left). I love this picture. I’ve looked at it at least 50 times since I downloaded it onto my computer yesterday afternoon.
The feeling I get when I look at this picture is exactly why I love photography.
As long as I can remember, I have always loved taking pictures. I can only imagine how many I’ve taken, both personally & now professionally, in my almost 30 years. Out of all of those many pictures, though, from time to time comes a special one like this. One that I know I will treasure for years to come. Words cannot express how thankful I am to have been able to capture this moment. Everytime I look at it I’ll remember these times when they were so little… my son’s face and hair still sweaty from the Choo-Choo Soul dance party they’d just had in the living room.
I love it when a client tells me that I was able to capture that perfect expression out of their child or that perfect moment for their family. Nothing makes me happier after a session than to know I have been able to provide another person with an image that they can love for years to come… or stare at over and over like I’ve done with this one.
That is why I love photography.
